Being an EcoBroker®
I'm proud to be the first Certified EcoBroker® in Taos County!
What does the mean for you? Read: Why work with an EcoBroker?
Do you know how you are never sure what your heating bills will be each winter? Energy prices are unpredictable, but I can help you find a home that will save you money and be a buffer against future price increases.
I have resources on environmental issues, such as mold, asbestos, lead and air quality. I can answer questions about and direct you to professionals for energy efficient building materials and appliances, heating and cooling systems, solar homesites, green financing, and energy home ratings.
Energy efficiency is not a buzz word - it is a necessity. We need to cut back our use of the finite fossil fuels we have come to depend on over the last 150 years or so. According to the EPA, buildings account for 39% of all energy use, making our homes the first place we should conserve. I can give you information on how to do this!
To see how I will help you find an energy efficient home, read the EcoBroker® Green Property Checklist (opens in a new window).
I work with green builders and energy professionals to educate the public about energy conservation.

For over 30 years, I have lived what is now labeled a ‘green’ lifestyle, from recycling and driving fuel-efficient vehicles to using native building materials in passive solar applications and gardening organically with water-wise plants. With my professional training and personal experience, I have plenty to offer clients and others in our industry when you are looking to live lightly on the planet.

“Real estate is not just about price, but also about value. The energy performance of a home is an important part of what creates that value. Green buildings significantly lower the monthly cost for the home owner, increase the resale value, and give the owner a competitive edge in a tough market.
Nan understands that value. It is great to work with an EcoBroker®, who knows how buildings work. This knowledge is not typically found among Realtors®. When I am ready to buy or sell again, I will have her on my team. You will benefit from her expertise, too.
Saving energy means taking personal action and contributing to solving the climate crisis by curbing greenhouse gas emissions. Invest in a project with high personal, environmental and social value, while having the benefit of the highest comfort level money can buy." Joaquin Karcher, Zero E Design.
